Prizewinner of international piano competitions and a Bösendorfer Concert Artist, Ivo Kaltchev has enjoyed a successful performing career as recitalist, soloist with orchestras, chamber musician and recording artist.

These are some of the words that describe Mr. Kaltchev's artistry.

He has performed in musical centers throughout the world, and his engagements for the 2008-09 concert season include concerts and master classes in the United States, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Bulgaria and China.

Dr. Kaltchev has received numerous awards for teaching excellence worldwide. His students are prizewinners of more than 20 piano competitions and have performed with numerous orchestras including I Solisti di Perugia (Italy).

Dr. Kaltchev holds degrees from Yale and Rutgers Universities, Sofia Academy of Music (Bulgaria) and the Franz Liszt Hochschule fur Musik (Germany). Currently, he is Associate Professor of Piano and Chair of the Piano Division at the Catholic University of America. He is also Visiting Piano Professor at the Beijing Conservatory of Music and co-director of the Washington DC International Piano Festival.
